HiFi-Guide is a specialized on-line archive of Loudspeakers in which are listed, complete with technical specifications, photos, and where possible original manuals and data-sheets, all the speakers of all brands so far produced in the world. “All” is too big a word of course, as well as unattainable, but it is an irreplaceable goal for the achievement of certain results, and HiFi-Guide, already at the time of its release on the Net, with over 19.000 products reported, more than 1.200 brands, and about 26.000 photos, is not only the most well-maintained, up-to-date, and reliable data-base among those in existence, but also the only one that can be considered complete, definitive, and irreplaceable.
Hi-Fi-Guide is the result of years of research work, data verification, and photographic processing, but it is above all a constantly updated archive, reporting not only the history and evolution of loudspeakers, useful for a variety of reasons of personal interest, but also a real-time overview of the models currently on the market, with constantly updated, if indicative, price lists, given their unstable and heterogeneous nature. It has not been and will probably never be possible to bring to Zero the errors and omissions in the database, but it was essential to be animated by this hyperbolic goal in order to obtain as a result the most authoritative database among all the existing ones, the most secure and reliable one.
In this regard, it should be remembered that Hi-Fi-Guide is a database, to which anyone can contribute by pointing out missing products or brands, errors or missing data, sending missing or better quality photos, and thus be publicly listed among the active contributors to Hi-Fi-Guide.
